Andersen has hired Alicia Sáez, until now a partner at Ecija, as a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law area to strengthen its Public Finance practice in its Seville office. She joins the firm together with Ángela Ortiz and Adela Jiménez, both senior consultants.

Sáez, who will be located in the Seville office, will provide services to companies and institutions throughout Spain at a time of special importance in relation to obtaining all types of financing and public aid -including the management, justification and control of European Funds- due to the large volume currently available.

With a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, and an Executive Education Program from the IESE, Alicia Sáez has more than 17 years of professional experience in which she has specialized in advising on obtaining public funding; in the management and justification of European funds, and in audits of public control bodies. During her career, she has worked on projects in various sectors, such as technology, media and telecommunications, industry and commerce.

For more than 13 years, Alicia Sáez developed her professional career in the public sector, where she held the position of director of the economic-financial area of the Andalusian Council of Chambers of Commerce. Subsequently, she made the leap to the private sector, practicing law in a national law firm. Currently, she combines her professional practice with teaching, giving classes at various universities and business schools, including the Master’s Degree in Administrative and Public Law at the Cajasol Institute of Studies.

Strengthening in the field of public financing and public aid

The EU Recovery and Resilience Plan for Spain for the period 2020-2026 is endowed with an amount of 160,000 million euros -76 million euros in transfers and 84 million euros in reimbursable loans-. Likewise, the budget of the European Multiannual Financial Framework for the period 2021-2027 amounts to 89 billion euros.
